Book Review: The Motivation Manifesto

- By Shagun Kathuria ( Batch-2023)

Brendon Burchard is one of the best-selling authors according to The New York Times. He is a leading motivational trainer as well.

In this book, he guides the reader on how to get rid of self-defeating habits and thoughts and build a strong personal power that takes you to the top. He presents the content in two sections. In the first section, he talks about human nature and how one tends to get demotivated due to personal thinking habits. In the second section, he gives 9 declarations that one can make for oneself and transform from an average performer to one who becomes the inspiration for others. Motivation is the driving force that is needed for every action that we take which may be as simple as getting up in the morning. The first step to create motivation is to have clarity of your purpose. Next is to free yourself from all kinds of fears and aim high. You must have big dreams and believe that you will achieve them. Think of yourself as a leader and keep the fire of motivation burning to explore and play freely just like little children do. This will help you to push boundaries and reach higher and higher.

The best thing about the book is the simple language and the flow that captures the interest of the reader. The author gives plenty of examples and instances where the readers can relate to themselves and get the best out of reading.

This book directly relates to the MBA profession which needs self-motivation and inner strength to overcome all fears, stereotypes, and hurdles and charge up to explore, innovate and achieve every day!
